Treasure Cay

by Greg & Lyn

Treasure Cay is a cross between a residential area and a resort marina. There are a handful of stores, a couple restaurants and a very protected harbor with a small marina.

But the real claim to fame for Treasure Cay is the beach, ranked in the top beaches in the world. (Not sure who rates beaches, but when we find out, we’re applying for the job). It was spectacular. The sand was the finest we’ve ever seen. As one person said, it’s more like powdered sugar than sand.

And the color of the water, probably because of the fine white sand, was an incredible blue!

It was a great sail across the Sea of Abaco to a great destination.

How is “cay” pronounced? Also, why do you have jackets on? Also I LOVE the blue waters and white sands!!

Hi Susie….Cay is pronounced like key. We have jackets on so you don’t have to be jealous that we are down here 🙂 The cold fronts that come across the US are pushing down here. So out on the beach it was really windy and about 60 degrees….so my hat is in my hand and I have a jacket on. It has typically been about 75 degrees in the day and 65 at night. Actually very nice and comfortable.

Well the water is beautiful and the sand is gorgeous and the jackets aren’t helping. I think of you when I see the snow up in the North East. I imagine The kids are drooling over your trip as well. Haha
