Florida Wildlife

One of the fun parts of traveling slowly is seeing the wildlife along the way.

More pictures of the dolphins that swam along with us.

Pelicans are everywhere, especially if there is a fishing or shrimp boat around.

This is a manatee. They are huge but hard to see from the surface. Most have migrated further south already but we have seen a few.

This is a Wood Stork. To learn what they are I googled “big white bird with ugly head” and those exact words came up with a picture of the Wood Stork.

They are big and aggressive. This man had to keep shooing them away from his bait and the fish he was catching. They aren’t mean though so they would move a few feet away and keep an eye on him.

Yes, they fly too.

There are lots of Pigeons too. They are also called kissing pigeons.

These are Ibis.

Yes, there is an alligator in a pond near by.  It’s a baby about 4 feet long…..we wonder where his momma is.

 

He quieted the sea with His power
